TWST: We'd like to begin with a brief historical sketch of the company and a picture of the things you are doing now.
Mr. Boon: The company is approximately 12 years old. It was in the startup phase of exploiting the digital radiography CCD optically coupled receptor technology for the first six years, and has been a commercial enterprise for the last six years. We manufacture a proprietary digital radiography receptor that's used for medical, veterinary and chiropractic facilities around the world. We sell entirely through indirect channels to both OEMs that incorporate our detector technology into their systems and we also sell complete systems that include positioners, generators and X-ray tubes that incorporate IDC's proprietary digital radiography technology to distributors around the world that are responsible for installation, warranty and post-warranty support. It is a competitive market, approximately 1 billion on a global basis in US dollars. It is a dynamic marketplace that is growing exponentially and approaching double digits annually. We compete against small startups and mid- sized companies as well as global giants such as General Electric Healthcare, Siemens Medical Solutions, Philips Medical Systems and Canon Medical Systems. We also compete against companies that sell computed radiography (CR) systems such as Carestream, formerly Kodak Healthcare, Konica, Fuji Medical Systems and AGFA HealthCare. That's just a brief snapshot of our industry as well as the competitive landscape.

TWST: What makes your company different or gives it an edge?
Mr. Boon: Our proprietary technology, we believe, has a considerable value proposition, decreases the time it takes to acquire an image as well as to display it. It's comparable in performance to digital radiography flat panels. The most important part is that our value proposition, the combination of price and performance, is unparalleled in the marketplace. And the fact that we sell through indirect channels allows us to access global emerging markets in the lower-price, lower-value segments. In North America our markets are primarily in the small hospital and non-acute care markets, such as imaging centers and orthopedic facilities. The second component of our value proposition is that as you look at our proprietary CCD DR technology, it's a repair versus a replace. Finally, with that we can offer a three-year warranty on our Detector Head technology that sets us aside as unique in the industry.
