TWST: Please begin with a brief historical sketch of the company and a picture
of the things you're doing right now.
Dr. Whitney: Itronics has developed a technology and is now in early stage
commercialization to recycle used photographic liquids into pure silver and a
line of high quality liquid fertilizers under the trademark, GOLD'n GRO.
TWST: What recent steps have you taken to move ahead?
Dr. Whitney: We're expanding the company, focusing on expanding GOLD'n GRO
fertilizer sales. We just recently completed the registration of an extension
product, a biopesticide, which is a deer repellent fertilizer called GOLD'n GRO
Guardian.
TWST: Which is the larger part of your business, the fertilizer or the silver?
Dr. Whitney: The fertilizer, but the business is vertically integrated, which
means that we collect and process the photographic liquids or we have them
shipped to us by other collectors, which pay us a tipping fee and then we
extract the toxic metal, which is silver. The demetalized liquids are converted
into fertilizers, which generate the bulk of sales.
